Paris Saint Germain boss Thomas Tuchel refused to enter into the Champions League debate following his side’s victory over Real Madrid. Les Parisiens gazumped the LaLiga giants with a 3-0 scoreline in the first game of the UCL this season.
“Before anyone asks a question… If someone asks me if we’re going to win the Champions League, I’m out of here,” Tuchel said when asked whether PSG could win the Champions League this season.
The French champions have been knocked out of the competition in last 16 for three consecutive years. Tuchel also praised his players for not playing under pressure.
“Maybe the pressure was not too high on the players because those three were missing,” said Tuchel.
“Without them we were not the favourites and it freed the minds of those who were on the pitch tonight, they did not feel the pressure.”
Asked if the team could do well without famed trio Neymar, Cavani and Mbappe, he said,
“We can do without them for a few games if all the others play at their best.”
