Chelsea, Arsenal & Man.United were also after the midfielder
Napoli captain Marek Hamsik has said that he was aware of Juventus’ attempts to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Juve made an £18.3 million bid for the Slovakia international, which was subsequently turned down by their Serie A rivals.
Hamsik was also linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United among the known clubs interested.
But the attacking midfielder is now set to stay at the Stadio San Paolo another season, that will include a Europa League campaign.
The 28 year old has just started his ninth season at Napoli, and has made 281 appearances
When questioned on Juventus’ pursuit of him, Hamsik refused to reveal his true feelings on the situation.
“I knew about the interest from Juventus,” he told reporters prior to Slovakia’s Euro 2016 qualifier with Spain.
“I knew about the €25m (£18.3m) offer, but I’d prefer not to say what I think about it. It’s better that way.”
