Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has said that he voted for Raheem Sterling to win the Premier League Player of the Year award. Van Dijk has had an unbelievable season with Liverpool so far and many have tipped him to win the Premier League Player of the Year award. However, van Dijk himself feels that Sterling deserves the award.

The Dutchman said, “I voted for Raheem Sterling. I did what I thought and I thought he deserves it. He’s had a fantastic season. I could have voted for Bernardo Silva as well and another couple of players from City. But I am just being honest. I think he has improved a lot as a player. We will see if he wins it.”

Like van Dijk, Raheem Sterling is having the best season of his career so far. He has scored 19 goals and has provided 16 assists in 42 matches across all competitions. Sterling will hope to put in another strong performance for Manchester City tonight when they take on Spurs.
