LA Galaxy superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic is soon to become a free agent.

Now he has suggested a return to Spain could be on the cards. Or is it so?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced he is “coming back” to Spain in what media all over the world thought could be a hint over his next career move. The 38-year-old’s contract with LA Galaxy expires in December and he has previously talked up a possible return to Europe.

A move to Italy seemed most likely, with a host of Serie A clubs believed to have showed an interest. However, the former Barcelona striker posted a short clip on Instagram on Tuesday which made everyone think that it was hint on a future at any La Liga club.

“Hola Espana, guess what? I am coming back,” he said.

Some suggested the likes of Atletico Madrid may be among the favorites for his signature, with Ladbrokes placing Diego Simeone’s side at 5/2 to move for the 38-year-old. According to Tribuna, he has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as well.

However, AS reports that the video may have been a publicity stunt for a betting firm that employ him as a brand ambassador. The Spanish publication claim Ibrahimovic has recently partnered up with Bethard, and that may be the group behind the cryptic message.

Following his side’s 5-3 loss to LAFC in the Western Conference playoff semi-final he said in typically brash fashion: “What happens next year? I don’t know. If I stay it will be good for MLS because the whole world will watch it. If I don’t stay, nobody will remember what MLS is.”
