Real Madrid have taken full advantage of Barcelona’s collapse at Valencia.

The Catalan side lost 2-0 to Valencia. Real Madrid took advantage of that and sneaked a 1-0 win over Real Valladolid, thanks to a goal from Nacho.

“I’m happy for him,” Zidane said at the post-game press conference. “Just before that I told him to attack the near post. He’s a defender who doesn’t usually score a lot, so I’m happy for him.”

Zidane’s men now lead the race in the La Liga.

“Leading doesn’t change anything. We have to keep doing the things we’re doing well,” he said.

“It’s a long and difficult season.”

“They’re three important points against a team that never gave up,” Zidane said. “We knew that before the match and we played better in the second half. We went into it with a new dynamic. We were better in possession of the ball and with the rhythm of the game. We picked up three important points today.”

Barcelona are on 43 points as compared to 46 points of Real Madrid.

The Catalan camp people will be looking at this dangerous change of baton and will want to fight back quickly.
