Everton eye move for former Chelsea defender

Sam Allardyce is keen on a reunion with Patrick Van Aanholt according to reports in Daily Mirror. The duo have worked together at Crystal Palace and Sunderland and the manager is desperate to sign him at Everton as well.

The former Chelsea defender has not been at his best ever since he left the Black Cats. But the manager is confident of bringing the best out of him again and has asked the Toffees management to sign him up next month.

Van Aanholt’s current contract ends in 2021 and Palace are reportedly in no mood to sell him. The Eagles are rock-bottom of the Premier League table and fear that they won’t be able to sign replacements as they are trying to sight relegation.

Daily Mirror reports that the only way Palace would sell him is if Everton make a bid of over £10 million for him.
