United unwilling to loan to Premier League rival

It’s thought that Everton have been dealt a huge blow in their bid to land Manchester United’s Memphis Depay on loan.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has expressed his interest in the winger, who has had a torrid time of it since joining United in 2015.

However, it’s thought that Jose Mourinho would rather loan the young star out to a foreign club, rather than a Premier League rival.

Mourinho fears Memphis, 22, could come back to haunt United if he is allowed to go on loan to Everton , with the two sides currently level on points in the Premier League.

It’s thought Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are also willing to take Memphis on loan, with guaranteed playing time more of a possibility there.

Fenerbahce are in pole position to take Memphis on loan, with their boss Dick Advocaat hoping the Dutch connection can help them clinch the deal.

Advocaat has helped Holland duo Robin van Persie and Jeremain Lens relaunch their careers at Fenerbahce, and is confident he can do the same for fellow countryman Memphis.
