On-loan Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry could find himself in the middle of a large transfer tug of war this summer.

Barry is currently on loan at Everton until the end of the season, and while The Toffees are hoping to make the deal permanent over the summer, other clubs have now made their interest clear. He will be a free agent in July and Everton have offered him a two year deal worth around ÂŁ50,000 per week, a hefty drop from his current wage of ÂŁ80K per week.

Barry has enjoyed his season at Goodison Park, and has revelled in his role sitting in midfield. He has played a key role in helping younger players in the squad such as Ross Barkley and James McCarthy develop. However, counter offers could be made by Arsenal and Tottenham, and also French club Monaco.

Monaco would provide a comfortable ending to Barry’s career, with a pace of football to which he could easily adapt after plently of experience in the competitve nature of the Premier League.
