Marco Silva has admitted that Everton are yet to open talks with Barcelona over the transfer of Andre Gomes.
The Portuguese midfielder has been one of the better performers for the Toffees this season since his arrival from Nou Camp on loan last summer.
Everton manager Marco Silva has admitted that the Toffees are yet to open negotiations with Barcelona over the transfer of Andre Gomes in the next summer transfer window. The Portuguese ace has been a star in the midfield for Everton this season and his partnership with Idrissa Gueye in the heart of the pitch has been one of the high points of a rather gloomy season for the Merseyside club and the Toffees are reportedly looking to make the transfer permanent next summer.
Speaking on the matter, the Portuguese manager told Liverpool Echo, “We already have (an idea). Of course, when I am speaking to him, we have to say what we can say in this moment.”
He added, “To be 100% honest with you, we did nothing yet about the situation because all of our focus is on the season. But I am working with Marcel, we are planning everything, and with time – which is different to last season. We maybe know more than you about the Andre position and all these things, but all we can say to you, is what he said.”
