Everton has started giving their offers for £18m for Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side is leading the race for the Real Madrid youngster, according to Sky Sports. The 23-year old is being highly sought after by several clubs in Europe, and has been named the best left-back in La Liga in the previous season. Reguilon went off on a loan to Sevilla, where he served one season and helped them qualify for Champions League by finishing 4th in the La Liga table.
The reason Ancelotti is behind this Real Madrid youngster to redeem the balance of the squad, which was tipped off when Leighton Baines left Everton – and now Everton wants to replace him with Reguilon. Baines retired in his career just on Sunday, so Reguilon is hot on their radar.
However, Real Madrid might want more money for Everton to get their hands on the left-back. The La Liga giants lost a significant amount of funds due to the coronavirus crisis – and need €200m (£180m) to make up for the lost amount. Further, Sevilla want to take on Reguilon on loan for yet another season – so Everton does have some convincing to do.
Everton has a fairly long window to convince Reguilon to their side, precisely from July 27 to 11 pm on October 5.
