Everton are ready to act upon news that Samuel Eto’o has rejected the chance to sign for Liverpool.
The Cameroon icon is availible on a free transfer after being released by Chelsea at the end of the season.
The forward currently has a number of offers, with the likes of Ajax and West Ham being another few names being linked with the player in the past week, as well as Liverpool.
Liverpool were hopeful of securing Eto’o as a replacement for Suarez, after failing to sign priority target Loic Remy from QPR.
And now it is understood that Everton are willing to meet the player’s demands and are hopeful of capturing Eto’o to play second fiddle to Romelu Lukaku.
Everton are expected to make their move in the coming days and are set to beat a whole host of clubs to the forward’s signature.
