Everton are ready to make a move for Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Manchester United’s Phil Jones this summer.

Sam Allardyce will try to sign Jack Wilshere and Phil Jones for Everton if he is still manager at Goodison Park next season.

Wilshere still hasn’t come to terms on a new deal with the Gunners, having rejected terms that would have seen him take a cut in his base pay. The Toffees are now ready to swoop in an attempt to land the England international on a free, with a better deal than the one being offered by the London side the key to landing the 26-year-old.

Meanwhile, Phil Jones’ contract at Manchester United expires at the end of next season, but the club have an option to extend it automatically by a year, meaning that they must decide whether to offer him a new deal or maximise his sale value.

His place in José Mourinho’s pecking order is uncertain, with Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo all competing for the centre-back roles.
