Reports from Sky suggest that Everton will be holding talks with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford about a new contract. Pickford is currently on vacation after a brilliant World Cup campaign with England and will return to the club next week.

The 24-year old made quite a name form himself at the World Cup in Russia. He played a significant role in England reaching their first World Cup semi-final in nearly three decades. He made a number of terrific saves for the Three Lions throughout the tournament including two penalty saves in the shootout against Colombia.

Pickford’s stellar performances at the World Cup has resulted in some major clubs keen to acquire his services for the upcoming season. Chelsea is the club to whom he has been strongly linked. The 24-year old is The Blues top target provided Thibaut Courtois leaves Stamford Bridge. Former Everton manager David Moyes has suggested that Pickford stay in Everton.

Jordan Pickford joined Everton from Sunderland last summer on a five-year deal. His transfer fee of £25 million with a bonus of £5 million made him the third most expensive goalkeeper then. With the arrival of Alisson to Liverpool, Pickford has been pushed to fourth. He was named Everton’s player of the season in his debut season for the club.
