Everton are plotting a £10million bid for Chelsea striker Demba Ba, as they search for a replacement for on-loan forward Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to make a Summer move away from Chelsea in order to play in the Champions League.
The Toffees were linked with making an official bid for the Belgium international, but after Arsenal pipped them to fourth spot in the Premier League, they do no think they’ll be able to persuade the front-man to sign permanently.
It is public knowledge that Jose Mourinho wants to sell the strikers that are currently at the club so that he can raise funds to sign his number-one target Diego Costa.
With Ba expected to leave, Everton are prepared to spend up to £10million on the Senegal international. and Roberto Martinez believes the 28-year-old would be the perfect replacement for Lukaku.
