According to Sky Sports, Inter Milan are in advanced talks to sign Cedric Soares from Southampton, a player Everton had scouted for themselves earlier.

The Saints are looking to sell and the Toffees wanted to bring in the 27-year-old as Seamus Coleman’s successor. However, the latest reveals that Cedric could be on the move to Italy pretty soon.

Previous reports from the SUN claimed that Everton were lining up a £15m bid for the fullback. Cedric has developed into a prime defensive figure in the Premier League despite Southampton’s relegation scare last term.

He made his way into the English top-flight in the summer of 2015 from Sporting Lisbon. Cedric has 33 caps to his name for Portugal and is currently the number option at the right-back spot.

He is offensively well trained as well, often making the overlapping runs to spread his team’ attack. Something which has firmly planted Seamus Coleman as Everton’s starting fullback on the right flank.

However, Coleman is currently in his 30s and is struggling to establish himself as a leading figure under Marco Siva. He faced a devastating leg break last term which severely halted the running form that he was previously in.

Inter Milan would be receiving a highly talented modern day fullback if they manage to finalise terms by the next week.
