Everton’s Idrissa Gueye Attracting Attention From PSG

Reports have been emerging of Paris Saint-Germain keeping a close eye on Everton’s Idrissa Gueye.

The 29-year-old is said to be perfect to the Parisians’ defensive needs an offer could be forwarded once the January transfer window opens. Tribal Football previously claimed that super agent, Pini Zahavi has been instructed by PSG to oversee the deal.

Marco Silva is currently settling himself up at the Goodison Park with the Toffees still nowhere close to making one of the European qualification spots. Gueye is a key figure in midfield next to Andre Gomes and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

While Silva does Tom Davies and an out-of-favour Morgan Schneiderlin as back up, losing Gueye could spark some trouble for him going into the second half of the season.

The Senegalese signed a contract extension last February which is due to end in June 2022. He has featured in 16 of Everton’s 18 Premier League games this season.

PSG, on the other hand, are set to lose Adrien Rabiot due to failed contract talks. Marco Veratti,  Lassana Diarra and Christopher Nkunku are Thomas Tuchel’s top picks for the deep-lying midfield spots but Gueye could be an upgrade over the latter duo.

This particular transfer thread has not gained as much attention as the Aaron Ramsey to PSG has. We might just have to wait and see this one transpires in the coming weeks.
