France and Manchester United left back Patrice Evra is set to leave Manchester United before the start of the season.

The 32 year old, who has been at Old Trafford since 2006, fears his place could be in jeopardy with the expected arrival of Everton full back Leighton Baines.

And now the 5 time title winner is ready to depart the North West, in favour of a return to his former club, Monaco.

The big spending French outfit have already splashed out over ÂŁ100 million on the likes of Radamel Falcao aswell as Porto’s Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.

And it is believed that their former left back is next on the shopping list.

The move is dependent however, on United matching Everton’s £16 million valuation of Baines.

With a new bid expected to be made in the next week.

Baines, 28, has 2 years left on his Everton deal with new manager Roberto Martinez keen to tie him down to an improved contract.

Although the chance to link up with former boss David Moyes and play Champions League football could prove too tempting for the England international.
