Expensive fee for Lallana

Clubs that are interested in signing Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana in the summer, will have to pay more than expected due to a sell-on clause in the players contract.

Lallana’s former club, Bournemouth, are owed 25 per cent of the players transfer fee, meaning that teams such as Manchester United may be more hesitant about signing the player than before. This sell-on clause will bump but the price of Lallana’signature significantly, as Southampton will want the full asking price for their player.

Bournemouth have previously recieved ÂŁ5,000 when Lallana earned a scholarship contract at Southampton, and a further ÂŁ10,000 when the player agreed a professional contract.

David Moyes, assistant Steve Round and coach Phil Neville watched Lallana and left-back Luke shaw during Southamptons draw against Aston Villa on the weekend. But with David Moyes likely to be sacked in the next two days, a transfer to Manchester could become unlikely for both of the Saints players.
