Schalke coach freshest candidate in search

It’s thought that the FA are keen to speak to former Schalke coach Ralf Rangnick over the vacant England manager job.

The 58-year-old is currently Director of Sports at Bundesliga club Red Bull Leipzig and was interviewed by the FA at Wembley back in July following the departure of Roy Hodgson after England’s dismal Euro 2016 campaign.

However, the German was later told that the FA would prefer to give the job to an English candidate.

Rangnick’s perhaps most notable achievement during his time at Schalke boss is taking the team to the Champions League semi-finals in 2011, where they were beaten by eventual runner-ups Manchester United.

Is this the right man for England?
