Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted Fabian Delph and Ron Vlaar could depart Villa Park for free, at the end of the season.

The pair are out of contract in the summer, and will leave for free, if they don’t sign new contracts.

Manchester United and Arsenal have both expressed their interest in Vlaar, whilst Liverpool have been linked with Delph.

Lambert has said he is powerless to Vlaar and Delph leaving.

“This is a brilliant club regardless what football you’re playing,” the Scot said.

“Those two lads have been fantastic for me the three years I’ve been here.

“They’re in their last year and from experience when you get into the Bosman ruling, you hold that card.

“I’m delighted with the way they’re playing. Whether they’re in their last year or have ten years to go those lads are right behind the football club at the minute.”
