Fabian Schar Finally Happy After Newcastle Transfer

Newcastle United’s Fabian Schar has expressed his delight over finally settling into life at Tyneside.

“Now, I’m a little bit happier than two months ago. It’s always good when you get opportunities to play. I’ve had a few games in the last weeks. I’ve been able to play, and also the team has been winning. I really like to play with my team-mates for this fantastic club. The fans give us big support, and I’m pleased to be on the pitch helping the team. I try to do the same every week.”

Schar moved to St James’ Park last summer when Newcastle triggered a buyout clause in his previous deal at Deportivo La Coruna. His early days in the North-East was tough, mostly due to a lack of minutes on the pitch.

But in recent times, the Swiss international has started to prove his worth since coming on for Jamaal Lascelles in the 1-0 Watford win. He has showcased his confidence on the pitch and was outstanding in the 1-0 win over Huddersfield last weekend.

Rafael Benitez will be pleased to find his £3m investment finally working out as expected. Schar further added, “I knew before what qualities I have. Just at the beginning, I had to be patient to get a chance. Now, I have had some quite good games. I try to help my team and do my job – that’s all I can do.”
