Fabio Borini has launched a bizarre rant on Twitter just a day after a move to QPR fell through.
The deadline day move was close to completion but Borini’s huge wage demands appeared to call the whole thing off. With Borini having also previously rejected a move to Sunderland – where he spent last season on loan – the striker took to Twitter on Tuesday to admit he was the one who made the decision to stay at Liverpool.
“Finally the madness is finished! I protected the MAN and the player that I am today…
…taking all the responsibility of the situation and for people who didn’t want it…
…and I m VERY happy with myself to have taken such an important decision!”
It is still unclear why exactly Borini rejected a move away from Anfield, though plenty of Sunderland fans have been accusing him of picking money over football on social media today. In order to earn a place in the Liverpoool starting xi, he will have to battle it out with stars such as Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert.
