Sparta Prague fans prepared to help club bring back midfielder

A group of Sparta Prague fans have written to the club to inform them that they would be willing to have a whip-round in order to finance a move for Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky.

The Czech international made his name in Prague and is considered a club legend despite him moving on to Borussia Dortmund and then eventually ending up at Arsenal.

The 34-year-old is seen as a fringe player at the Emirates Stadium nowadays and with his contract expiring in a month’s time, it’s reported that he is set to quit the club, ending his nine-year association.

Rosicky is currently one of Arsenal’s longest serving players after completing his move from Dortmund back in 2006, but due to injuries, his career in England hasn’t lived up to his early days hype, but he is still considered a fan favourite at the Emirates for his loyalty and work-rate.

However, another season spent mainly on the bench, the midfielder is ready to leave in order to play regularly during his final years in the game and a return to Sparta could be a possibility.

Former-Club’s Interest

The club’s owner Daniel Kretinsky has already admitted he’d love to sign Rosicky for the club and have him end his career in Prague, the place where it all began, but he knows it could be impossible for financial reasons.

However, it’s been revealed that a group of fans have sent him a letter claiming they will help with the costs if the deal could be done.

“If you decide to bring Tomas Rosicky to Sparta, we are ready to contribute with some finances for the transfer’s realisation,” the letter states.

“At the moment we cannot promise a particular financial amount.

“But we are ready to do maximum, to inspire Sparta fans to raise the sum as high as it can be.
