Chelsea striker Fernando Torres could be banned for four-games after his incident involving Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen on Saturday.

In a heated affair, the Spaniard striker appeared to claw at the Spurs defender’s face and got booked for the clash.

Torres was then sent off later on in the match for a second-yellow after leading with his elbow in an aerial battle with the Belgium centre-back.

Despite the striker getting booked for the incident, Mike Dean, who was the referee, has confirmed to the FA that he did not see Torres scratch Vertonghen and that is why he could now be facing a four-game ban, rather than just one-game.

The incident will now be taken to a panel and they will then decide how long Torres is banned for.
