Filipe Luis believes Griezmann's €100 million release clause is cheap

The Striker has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona

Atletico Madrid’s forward Antoine Griezmann has been the mainstay in their team since joining them from Real Sociedad in 2014. He was been pivotal for them and has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world.

The France International has been a regular for the La Liga giants this season and helped his team to reach the finals of Europa League. He has scored 27 goals for his club in all competitions this season.

The 27 year old has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona at the end of the season and according to reports the club is ready to pay his release clause of €100 million. However La Liga Champions pursuit of the French striker has angered Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann’s teammate Filipe Luis believes that if the striker is sold for his release clause then it would be a bargain buy.

“Griezmann for €100m is cheap, it’s the truth,” he told a news conference.

“It will not affect him because we are not thinking about it. If he goes, it will be after the [Europa League] final and everyone wants to win it. The other things go after that.

“He is cheap and if he ends it well, it will be even more so. This club has shown many things but it’s not just Griezmann.

“He has been the most decisive player this season but we have helped him to be like he is. We want him to continue but what happens after the final is not connected to this.”
