SillySeason looks into five players who should leave Old Trafford

Over the past few days, SillySeason writers have been looking into potential players who should consider leaving their current clubs.

So far, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have been covered and now it’s time to look at players who should consider leaving Manchester United.

With Louis Van Gaal planning yet another major summer spending spree, the following five players could see their game-time drastically limited throughout the next year or so.

So lets take a look at five players who we think should leave United for the sake of their career.

1. Jonny Evans

After successful loan spells at Royal Antwerp and Sunderland, alongside the likes of Darron Gibson, Danny Simpson and Frazier Campbell, Jonny Evans was tipped to go on to big things at Old Trafford.

However, it hasn’t materialised as it was expected to do and the Northern Ireland international could follow the likes of Gibson, Simpson and Campbell through to exit door at Manchester United. Although it could be too late.

The centre-half has never been a favourite at United and hasn’t lived up to his potential, the fact United have never really replaced the partnership of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic leads to finger pointing.

Maybe Evans receives some unfair criticism, but some tentative performances last campaign under ruthless manager Louis van Gaal didn’t help his cause.

To compile his misery, Evans received a six-game suspension last season following a spitting altercation with Newcastle United’s Papiss Cisse.
