Former Arsenal star helps Poland in losing to Senegal in Group H encounter.

Juventus’ Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny blunder gifts Senegal a victory.

M’Baye Niang and Thiago Cionek’s own goal helped Senegal win the Group H clash.

Thiago Cionek’s unfortunate own goal in the 37th minute handed Senegal the lead before their advantage was doubled through M’Baye Niang in the 60th minute.

Niang capitalised on a poor backpass from Grzegorz Krychowiak due to which former Arsenal man Szcnesny came rushing out of his goal to claim the ball.

He was beaten to it by Niang, who was given the simple task of tapping the ball home into the unguarded net to score his first international goal after running on from the sideline having received treatment.

The goal is seen as controversial moment by many Polish fans.

Poland managed to pull one goal back in the last minutes. But Senegal were able to hold on in the final few minutes despite some late Poland pressure to get their World Cup campaign off to a dream start.
