Former Brazil custodian Dida has heaped praises on Alisson and Ederson insisting these to have added a new dimension to the modern day keeping.
Liverpool Keeper Alisson is currently leading the Premier League clean sheet tally with 17 while Manchester City number 1 Ederson is in the second place with 14 clean sheets. Both the keepers have been central to their respective team’s plans and they are also competing for the Premier League trophy.
Ederson arrived at the Etihad stadium in 2017 and was very effective in his maiden campaign as City went on to left the title. Pep Guardiola’s possession based football wouldn’t have been successful without the Brazilian’s supreme passing skills.
Alisson also has been praised for his excellent ball distribution quality and the definition of a ball playing keeper has certainly been changed it seems.
Dida said, “The quality of Brazilian goalkeepers has certainly risen, and these names confirm it.
“The technique of modern goalkeepers includes the ability to play with the feet and a deeper reading of the match.
“However, currently there are many high-level goalkeepers, first of all AC Milan’s (Italy) goalkeeper Gigio Donnarumma.”
