Former Chelsea first-team doctor, Eva Carneiro, is set to resume her role at the West London club – should she win her legal dispute against the Premier League title-holders in January.

The Spaniard departed her position in September following on from a high-profile war of words with manager Jose Mourinho.

Carneiro was dropped from the matchday squad for an indefinite period of time, after she attended to treat Eden Hazard for an injury during the 2-2 draw with Swansea City on the opening day – against Mourinho’s wishes.

After her departure from Chelsea, Carneiro has since filed for constructive dismissal, along with suing Mourinho for sexual discrimination damages.

The case will now be heard in a private hearing on Wednesday 6th January 2016, according to Sky Sports – and is to take place at London South Employment Tribunal in Croydon, rather than in Central London.

Mourinho has twice before been cleared by the FA of using sexist language towards the 42-year-old Gibraltar native, but the doctor has pointed criticism at the governing body.
