Former Chelsea Striker Ready For Premier League Return

Diego Costa is set to depart from Atletico Madrid this summer after the La Liga outfit confirmed the signings of Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix.

The Sun predicts that the 30-year-old is ready to make his way back into the Premier League after only leaving Chelsea two seasons back. He is reportedly open to discussing terms with Everton, who are in search of a new number nine.

The Toffees owner, Farhad Moshiri is desperate to add another big name to Everton ranks to increase the club’s reach worldwide. He has already gone after Juventus youngster, Moise Kean and has already been rejected after a €30m bid.

Costa spent a prolific period in England, winning the Premier League title twice in his 3 years and scoring 58 goals for the Blues. However, his Chelsea career came to a controversial end when he was boycotted by then-manager Antonio Conte for the last six months.

Atletico Madrid offered him a path out through a €66m transfer but Costa has been nowhere as good as he was with the Rojiblancos before. He scored just once in 2019 and was riddled with injuries throughout the past season.

The La Liga outfit are desperate to move him out and Everton might be able to take him on for the upcoming campaign.
