Bayer Leverkusen manager Sami Hyypia has revealed that it is his dream to become the manager of former-club Liverpool one day.

The former-defender spent over a decade at Anfield and helped guide them to every footballing honour there is, including the Champions League back in 2005 when they produced a remarkable comeback against AC Milan in Istanbul.

As his current side Leverkusen prepare to take on Manchester United, Hyypia has been talking to Sky Sports and he has revealed that there are two jobs that are his dream and one of them, is in Merseyside.

“Many people have asked me – ‘Where would I want to manage?’

“There are two special places for me; I was at Liverpool for 10 years so that would be great.

“That doesn’t mean it’s a target – but it would be something special.

“And I come from Finland – and the Finnish national coach is the biggest job there. It’s also not a target but it would be great.”
