Chelsea will be without four players for the visit of Newcastle United tomorrow afternoon.
Antonio Conte is set to be without Michy Batshuayi [foot], Kenedy [muscular issue], David Luiz and Charly Musonda who Conte confirmed were recovering from their recent injuries.
Luiz still needs treatment on his knee, having lost his starting place to Andreas Christensen in the centre of defence, and Charly Musonda posted a video of himself on Instagram, recovering from his own knee problems.
“Luiz and Musonda out. Batshuayi and Kenedy have just started to work with us and need time but it’s important to have them back with us,” Conte said.
“He’s [Luiz] having treatment in his knee. [It is] Not simple to understand how much longer for this injury but at the same time the doctor is doing the best to recover him very soon.”
This pretty much means that Conte will still have a similar squad to the one fielded to take on Swansea City during the week with players still having not returned from their injuries as yet.
This is how the provisional Chelsea squad will most likely look like: Courtois, Caballero, Eduardo, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill, Rudiger, Zappacosta, Alonso, Ampadu, Moses, Clarke-Salter, Moses, Kante, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Bakayoko, Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Morata.
