The ex-Chelsea flop has a desire to return to the Premier League.

Di Santo struggled to hold down a starting place during his spell with Chelsea, behind Drogba and Anelka in the pecking order.

After struggling in London, he moved up north.

Whilst at Wigan, Di Santo won the FA Cup in 2013 but soon moved on again, this time out to the Bundesliga, and Werder Bremen on a free transfer.

When reflecting on his time at Chelsea, Franco Di Santo told Goal: “At this moment, I was young and there were many good players. It was very difficult playing on this team.”

“However, Ancelotti kept me in mind. I remembered his as a winner coach.”

“You look at him and you feel today we’re going to win.”

“I left Chelsea because I wanted to play a little more.”

Even though he struggled previously, he would like a return to England.

“Yes. Now I have more experience. I found a new place where I can play happily and it gives me confidence.”

“If I come back to England, it’d be a great revenge.”
