Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that he will decide his future after next Summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

The 35-year-old was close to leaving Stamford Bridge this Summer, but after Jose Mourinho was announced as their new manager, Lampard was finally offered a one-year extension, but he knows that it may not be the same this time around.

Chelsea Football Club have a strict policy when it comes to their over-30 players, as they only offer them one-year contract extensions and the midfield-man has admitted that he knows his future will come into question next Summer, but he insists that it can wait until after Brazil.

“I’ll be 36,” Lampard told the Sun.

“Right now, I’m not sure in my own head. At my age I understand it’s not a four-year contract, it’s a one-year extension. I’m more than happy with that.

“I’ll make a decision after the World Cup… when we’ve won it and can all retire happy!”
