Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has heaped praise upon team-mate Eden Hazard after he helped guide the side to a thrilling 4-3 victory against Sunderland last night at the Stadium of Light.
The Belgium international set up The Blues’ equaliser after producing a delightful cross for Lampard, who was left the simple task of heading home past Vito Mannone to make it 1-1.
Then it was all Hazard.
Just before half-time the tricky winger made it 2-1 to the visitors after a brilliant solo goal and then in the second-half he was able to make it 3-2 after yet another brilliant solo effort.
After the game manager Jose Mourinho was full of praise for the Belgium, and so was team-mate, Lampard.
Lampard said: “Eden Hazard was different class. It’s the best individual performance I have seen in a while.
“The only player who is probably putting in those sort of performances is Sergio Aguero.
“This season he has put in some individual performances which I have seen some of those from afar, but to play with, that was just top drawer.
“He kept slipping inside people and getting his shots away. He was the big difference. As a team, we played very well, but he was that little bit of extra quality that wins you these games.”
