Frank Lampard is due to join newly-founded MLS club New York City in January, but since signing for Premier League champions Manchester City on a short loan deal, the Englishman has been praised to the highest extent after many mouth-watering performances.
Lampard, 36, scored his fifth goal for City in his side’s 3-0 victory over Southampton at St. Marys’ on Sunday.
And having been in such brilliant form for City, it is believed Lampard will want to remain at the Etihad until the conclusion of the current campaign. If that is the case, Lampard will be handed double the £85,000 salary he is due to earn in New York. With staying at City, Lampard will also be given the oppurunity of a dramatic return to Stamford Bridge on 31 January.
Despite the board of New York City likely to made upset if that particular scenario turns out to be true, any dissaproval will be certainly overwritten by billionaire Sheikh Mansour; the owner of both New York City and Manchester City.
