Current Tottenham number one, Brad Friedel, has hailed the arrival of French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and insists he has no problem with him being at White Hart Lane.
Most people expected Friedel to be dropped as soon as Lloris arrived at Tottenham on deadline day for £8m, but Tottenham boss, Villas-Boas, has kept faith in the American veteran and has insisted he is still number one.
Friedel has been speaking out saying that the goalkeeper situation is a positive for Tottenham and shows that they have great depth in the goalkeeping department.
“Hugo has come in and is a really nice person,” said Friedel.
“He’s a super goalkeeper but we have two other really good goalkeepers in Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini.
“We have friendly and healthy competition for places. Hopefully we will have long runs in all the cup competitions and there’s going to be plenty of matches to share around.”
There is a chance new goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris, could make his Tottenham debut in their europa league clash against Lazio.
