An England international footballer who played in Wednesday’s friendly against Denmark. is set to come out as Gay.

The un-named player is said to have done an ‘exclusive’ interview with notorious tabloid, the Sun, in the Newspapers Sunday edition.

It would be unfair to speculate the player in questions sexual orientation, however, rumours have been doing the rounds on social media sites.

Whoever the player is, he will become the first ever openly Premier League Footballer to come out as gay, in news, which really should not be News, in todays society.

The player will be the first since Justin Fashanu, to come out whilst playing at the top level, with Fashanu coming out in 1990 whilst playing for Norwich City.

Fashanu took his own life in 1998, after years of abuse.

However, Robbie Rogers has also recently come out, the American retired from the professional game whilst at Leeds United, before announcing he was gay, and coming out of retirement to play in the MLS for the LA Galaxy.

All of us at sillyseason want to support the player, whoever it may be.
