Gabriel Barbosa is a target for three Premier League clubs.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United are all keeping tabs on the highly-rated 19-year old who, after a sensational season at Santos and a superb international debut, is being called the ‘next Neymar.’
Barbosa is also wanted by PSG and although most of the Premier League sides are believed to be willing to wait on a transfer they could end up having to try and sign him this summer if the Ligue 1 side make a bid.
He hasn’t yet fully developed at the young age of 19 and he has only proven himself in Brazil. However, given the chance as Neymar was, he could prove to be a hit in England or France. He certainly seems to know where the back of the net is.
Huge £40m release clause
He won’t be cheap though, that’s for sure – Santos realise they could have a big talent on their hands and included a whopping £40m release clause in his current contract, according to reports.
If any club wanted to trigger it, they would have to stump up a huge amount of cash and Santos may not accept any less than that release clause, as they aim to hold onto a player who is believed to be their next big talent.
Arsenal are on the lookout for another forward and could really use him to help them bang in the goals that could potentially fire them to the title and the same could be said about Chelsea. As for Man United, they are eager to utilise him in a squad alongside Martial, with Jose Mourinho planning to overhaul the squad in a bid to get them battling for the title again.
PSG of course may be the most desperate and could launch a bid sooner rather than later, as they look for a suitable replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has left the club.
