Galatasaray are to table a bid for Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski, according to Turkish media.

The Istanbul club are in search of a striker, with Didier Drogba rejoining Chelsea on a free transfer last week, and view Podolski as a main target regarding a possible transfer.

Podolski has become a real fan favourite since signing from German side Cologne in 2012, however now the Gunners have signed forward Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, Podolski may be ushered through the exit door of the Emirates.

The 29 year old was a bit part player for Arsene Wenger’s side last season, scoring eight goals in 20 Barclays Premier League appearances, and could favour a move to Turkey to gain first team football.

Recently appointed manager Cesare Prandelli is ready to table a big money offer to take Podolski to Gala, who finished runners up to eventual winners Fenerbahce in last season’s Turkish Superliga.

The Turkish side have had no problem attracting big money names in the last few years, with the likes of Drogba, Sneijder and Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera plying their trade at the club, and a lucrative move maybe on the horizon for the World Cup winner, who is one of Arsenal’s biggest earners.
