Ligue 1 manager wants to replace Brendan Rodgers

Saint Etienne boss Christophe Galtier has admitted he would love to take over from Brenden Rodgers at Anfield.

It seemed after Rodgers managed to turn the Reds’ season around and steer the club towards a top four challenge that his job would be safe.

However reports after their 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa have suggested that the club management are looking at other options for a potential summer switch.

Though Jurgen Klopp has been speculated, it seems Saint Etienne boss Christophe Galtier has made himself known to Liverpool by admitting he would love to have a go in the hotseat.

He told Canal Football Club: “If I had to choose my destination, I would go to Liverpool.

“It’s my dream.

“This is not a desire on my part to go elsewhere but I do always ask myself the question and I have a constant question in my head of whether this year will be one too many [at Saint Etienne].

“Maybe it is a mistake on my part to have the question at the back of my mind but that’s just how it is.

“I have the right, like the players, to ask whether or not this is the right moment to go elsewhere.

“Take over Marseille? Why not? Lyon? Everything is possible in football.”
