Gareth Bale has stated to Sky Sports that he will aim to be even better for Real Madrid next season, as he prepares for his second season at Madrid.
Bale, aged 25 moved to the Bernabeu for an £85 million world record fee last summer, and impressed during his first season at the club, helping the Spanish side to a Champions League and Kings Cup double, scoring pivotal goals in both fixtures.
The former Tottenham man scored 14 goals in La Liga last year, and 22 overall, returns to Cardiff for Real’s UEFA Super Cup fixture against Europa League winners, and fellow La Liga side Sevilla.
And Bale told Sky Sports News that he feels a full pre season will give him the power of good, heading into the new campaign, which kicks-off properly on the 23rd August, with Madrid starting their campaign on the Monday with a home game against Cordoba.
“It’s a lot easier having a pre-season under your belt instead of waiting at home for a transfer to go through.
“I feel in much better shape this season, I feel I can start at a better tempo and performance so, yeah, I’m looking forward to the season ahead.
“I feel in great shape. I don’t feel the pressure of being back home, it’s obviously a big match that we want to win and a trophy we want to win but it’s another game where I have to put 110% in to try and perform my best.
“It’s nice not being new. For us every season we want to win every trophy we’re in for, no matter what team we’re playing, no matter what trophy we’re playing for, we want to win everything.
“We’ll be trying to win the league, the Champions League this season.”
