Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has insisted that there is no rivalry between himself and Cristiano Ronaldo and the Welshman also believes the Portuguese-star is currently the best player in the world.
Many people thought egos would clash when Madrid secured the signing of Bale from Tottenham Hotspur for £86million in the Summer and that was mainly due to the fact Bale cost the Spanish giants £6m more than what they spent on Ronaldo when they signed him from Manchester United back in 2009.
The two have created a deadly pairing at the Bernabeu and between them they have scored 14 goals in their last six matches.
Speaking to a newspaper, Bale admitted that there is no rivalry at all between the pair.
“There is no rivalry at all,” the Welshman told The Independent.
“We get on very well. He’s helped me out a lot on and off the pitch.
“We’re enjoying playing together and I think the goals and assists show that we’re playing well together.
“There’s still a lot more to come from us both and hopefully we can have a successful season by doing that.”
Bale then couldn’t help but praise his team-mate and labelled him as the best player in the world right now.
“For me, he is the best player in the world and I don’t think anyone is near him,” he added.
“He deserves that award. The goals and the performances he has put in, especially when you think of the pressure he is under, for Portugal the other day, it shows what a true, true world-class player he is.”
