Gareth Bale’s agent responds angrily to Manchester United rumours
Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has spoken out this week after yet more rumours linking the Real Madrid star to Manchester United.
Bale has not played since September due to a calf injury, but that has not stopped the papers linking the Welshman with a move back to the Premier League.
It’s no secret that Manchester United are looking for attacking reinforcements, but according to Barrett, his client is happy in Madrid and won’t be moving any time soon.
“He loves Madrid, the city, the lifestyle and he loves the club. Of course, it hurts him when the people don’t support him and they do with other players who aren’t so good,” he said. “He wants to play the rest of his life at Real Madrid.”
Barrett also had some strong words for the Spanish press and condemned the constant rumours linking Bale with a move away from the Bernabeu, calling them ‘garbage’.
“I think that those who write these stories should go back to school and learn what journalism should be like, it’s not inventing stories,” he ranted.
“I do not want to get angry because I read invented stories. Some journalists in Spain write garbage, they aren’t based on football reasons and this is a mistake.”
Bale is expected to return in Madrid’s Copa del Rey tie against Fuenlabrada on Thursday night.
