Everton midfielder reveals striker DIDN’T bite him

Everton star Gareth Barry has defended Chelsea striker Diego Costa following their encounter in yesterday’s game, and has confirmed there was no bite from the Spaniard.

The two players came to blows during yesterday’s FA Cup Quarter-Final, and after squaring up to each other, Costa appeared to bite Barry‘s neck in frustration.

Both were shown yellow cards, but for the Chelsea striker, that was his second, so he was sent for an early bath. A few moments later he was joined by Barry after he was also shown a second yellow.

A lot of talk was about Costa and Barry, with everyone speculating whether or not the striker actually bit the midfielder.

However, the Everton star has confirmed that there was no bite during the altercation.

Barry Statement

He posted on social media app Fanzai: “Seen a lot of talk about the incident involving me and Diego Costa in the game last night. For the record he did not bite me.”

A Chelsea spokesperson has also revealed Costa didn’t bite Barry.
