Chelsea defender set to pen new deal
Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill is set to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The defender’s current-deal expires in 2017, and officials at Chelsea want to ensure that he has his deal extended before he enters his final year.
The 29-year-old has been waiting to hear from the club’s board regarding a new contract, with his 30th birthday just around the corner, meaning he could start being offered 12-month rolling contracts due to the club’s policy.
Long-term Deal
However, it’s believed Chelsea will offer Cahill a long-term deal, which will see him retire at Stamford Bridge.
According to reports, the centre-back is close to agreeing to a new deal and an announcement should be made in the near-future.
Cahill isn’t the only one close to signing a new deal, as Willian is also in talks with the club.
