Gary Cahill says the Blues have learn’t from their humiliating Champions League defeat to Roma last month.

Antonio Conte’s side lost 3-0 to the Italian giants just two weeks after blowing a two-goal lead in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge.

However,  Cahill, who started both Matches, is confident the Blues will bounce back when they travel to Qarabag on Wednesday.

“After that there was a feeling that we needed to pull our finger out in terms of the performance and everything,” he told the Independent.

“The way we lost was unacceptable for us. When you look in the mirror that performance was unacceptable.

“What’s good is we saw the reaction against Manchester United in a game that is a massive game, a massive fixture and a pressured game.

“We have slipped up a couple of games this season and we couldn’t afford to lose against teams like that at home.

“So all the pressure was on that game and we delivered so that’s the pleasing aspect.

“We’re building some momentum in the league and now we go back to the Champions League, which is important.

“We’ve had two difficult Matches against Roma but we started really well so it’s in our hands now and we know we need a win. We should go full of confidence.”
