Gary Neville feels Manchester United are chasing a Europa League spot this season.

The Red Devils have endured a difficult time as their poor form is making life difficult for them. United failed to get past a struggling Southampton in the last match and the frustration at Old Trafford is on the rise.

United’s failure to lure players in the summer has had a big role to play in their struggle. Mourinho made his intentions known to United chief executive Ed Woodward but he couldn’t complete deals in the stipulated time leaving Mourinho in a spot of bother.

Negative brand of football from Mourinho is hurting the image of the club and it needs to be changed. The likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford are yet to show their credential in the red shirt but they must show their character on the pitch finish the season on a high.

Neville said, “If you are Manchester United, where are you at? Watching them on Saturday against Southampton they look a million miles away from that [Arsenal and Tottenham].

“United are in a massive battle to get into the top four, even the Europa League places at the moment.”

“Manchester United have to prove, more than they have so far this season, that they can compete with this Arsenal team.

“Old Trafford is always a difficult place to go, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Manchester United won on Wednesday night, however they will recognise they have had a warning today from Arsenal.

“No team should now be shocked about how Arsenal are going to play in big matches in the future.”
