German news outlet Der Spiegel has made claims that Manchester City made illegal payment to Jadon Sancho’s agent.

The payment is claimed to be made when the player was 14 years old, i.e, underage.

The German news outlet Der Spiegel has made a big claim blaming Manchester City about making an illegal payment to their former player Jadon Sancho’s agent, Emeka Obasi, to bring the player into their side when he was allegedly underage. The England international was claimed to be 14 years old only when he was brought into the side from Watford in March 2015.

The current rules by the Football Association clearly say that a player can’t have an agent until he is 16 years old and there has been a breach of this rule in the case of the former Manchester City player, who is currently plying his trade at Borussia Dortmund.

However, Manchester City club authority has completely denied the claims made by the German outlet and has said, “The attempt to damage our reputation is organised and clear. We will not be providing any comment on out-of-context materials purported to have been hacked or stolen from City Football Group and Manchester City personnel and associated people.”
