Germany knocked out of the World Cup

Germany got knocked out of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The defending champions Germany knocked out of the World Cup in Group Stage.

Germany have become the fourth European World Cup winner in a row to see their title defence fall at the Group Stages itself.

Joachim Löw’s side lost 2-0 to South Korea which sent their tournament ambitions out of sight.

The 2014 champions finished bottom of Group F after the defeat to South Korea on Wednesday.

Both the team started off the game in high tempo, eventually Joachim Löw’s side got into the game.

Timo Werner’s effort on the stroke of half time that almost gave them the lead after his fantastic volley came crashing off the post.

The Germans looked to be edging ever closer to a goal.

As the Germans pushed for a winner though, they were leaving all sorts of spaces open at the back for the Koreans to exploit.

And it was the stoppage time corner from the left from which Kim Younggwon scored.

To add to up to German wounds they doubled their advantage moments later, as Son raced in to tap into an empty net.

That was it for the defending champions. Germany knocked out of the World Cup in Group Stage.
